Kobelco Industry Packages Built for Job-sites Your Teams Measure Daily

From quarry haul roads to coastal container ports — Kobelco earthmoving fleets show up where the schedule cannot slip and digging depth must match the bid book.

Industry packages start with ground pressure and attachment duty

Highway contractors, quarry operators and bridge specialists do not buy “a generic excavator.” They buy a combination of track shoe width, bucket class, hydraulic system pressure and slewing speed that matches a published cut plan. Kobelco industry packages are therefore organized by job-site photo evidence and duty-cycle numbers rather than by marketing slogans.

When an EPC asks for a reference, we return the closest site class: limestone versus hard-rock quarry, mountain corridor versus coastal port berm, high-reach demolition versus underground drift support. That comparison includes commissioning days, mean-time-to-repair on contracted hours and which undercarriage kits were staged before the rainy season window.

Crawler Excavator vs. Wheeled Excavator: Which Fits Your Site?

Procurement teams face a real trade-off between terrain stability and road-transfer cost. Both sides are valid — the cut plan decides.

Crawler Excavator

Lower ground pressure (typically 40–55 kPa on mid-class machines) suits soft quarry benches and deep cuts. Track shoe width and undercarriage mass stabilize breakout force above 140 kN and keep gradeability usable on wet haul-road shoulders. Most mass-earthworks and hard-rock face loading packages stay on crawlers for that reason.

Wheeled Excavator

Road transfers do not require a lowboy every move, which lowers operating cost on urban utility digs and multi-site highway shoulder work. Wheeled units trade some soft-ground flotation and deep-dig stability for faster site-to-site cycles when pavement access is continuous and digging depth stays moderate.

Kobelco applications engineers size crawler classes first when average digging depth exceeds ~6.5 m or ground pressure targets sit below 50 kPa; wheeled packages are recommended when weekly road kilometers dominate the duty cycle.

Where a Kobelco Industry Package Needs Extra Engineering

Clear operating boundaries keep bid packages honest. Share these constraints with the applications desk before locking machine class.

Selection Factors Before You Lock a Machine Class

Compare packages on measurable dimensions — not brand slogans. Share these values with the Kobelco desk for a configuration sheet.

Selection factor Typical Kobelco mid-class range Why it matters on site
Operating weight 20–36 t Sets trailer class, ground bearing and attachment duty
Bucket capacity 0.8–1.9 m³ Balances cycle time against rock density
Digging depth 6.5–7.5 m Must match published cut plan, not brochure max
Hydraulic system pressure ~320 bar (32 MPa) Drives breakout force and attachment hydraulics
Engine power ~129–200 kW Sized to Tier 4 Final / EU Stage V duty cycles
Ground pressure ~40–55 kPa Decides crawler shoe width on soft benches
